Kings of War

Following our discussion last night, would there be any interest in giving the new rules a try, maybe with small forces, the week after next? I could lend Wes an army.

As a side note, I was doing some reading up on Kings of War and stumbled upon my own blog, where I discuss the merits of the game whilst clearly out-playing Pete. I'd completely forgotten we'd played.

Yes! I'd already hassled Pete as I worked out on 1st ed. rules I have about 1k of Abyssal Dwàrfs. Also, in case anybody was interested, the Warthrone (WFB scale Avatars of War game) rules are now out in English if you guys want tomtry those?

I'm going to guess that either:

a) you had a different theme on your blog then and it reformatted the text, or
b) you wrote the text in something else and copied it in, that always makes my posts go weird.

The new rules are released on Friday, I think. I reckon that if we knock up really small forces, 500 points or so, we could get several games in as I remember it being really quick. That should teach us the rules fairly well.

I'm up for that, definitely. Dare I suggest doing this on Sunday instead, as I won't be coming out to play on my wedding weekend so you can all do Bolt Action the week after?

There's a pre-release set being sent out this week to the mailing list I believe Pete. I'm sure on of us could forward you a copy?

Anyway, I'd still like to play Bolt Action please, I've only had 3 games with the French and they're all I've painted for the last seven months.

I did have the thought last night that I could possibly turn my Hobbit box into something for Kings of War.

But then I've got that much Fantasy stuff anyway... I dunno.

Matt, if its the set imthink, would the goblin town buts make good jetties for a small port/fishing town to raid? Just thinking about Seven Seas stuff...

It is that set, and yes they probably would. in fact they could probably form some sort of Jack Sparrow style multi-story jetty thing too. I did think about trying to make them repositionable when I eventually build them.

Have you noticed how most of your posts end with "when i get to....."
