Is that had Matt ended up with French?

So Pete, is the German book worth getting, or will I have enough choice from the main list and the extra units in Ostfront?

Well, it has all the German rules in it, so yes, I would say it was...

That and it only being about £10, its worth it.

I'm not sure if theres much difference with the list in the main rulebook. I assume there must be or it woulnd't be worth doing a separate book.

The reason I ask is that I've read complaints that as it was the first army book, it didn't have much beyond the theatre selectors and a few extra variant infantry and tanks to differentiate it from the main book, whereas the Soviet book has lots of different troops, optional rules, theatre selectors and new army rules, like the Commissars and such.

I think I'll hold off and restrict myself to what's in the rule book for now. As Late War Grenadiers, I don't really need to limit myself on equipment and can go crazy with cheaty assault rifles.

Use Easy Army for the selectors. There are a few tweaks - the Puma changes between the main rule book and the Germany book for example. I'm sure there are others. Might all be covered in Easy Army though, depending on what options you end up taking.

My new WI has shown up and the new subscription deal is a free Flames of War tank platoon. I know it's not on our radar at the moment, but I thought I'd mention it as Pete might want some proper tanks (Panthers!) for his Germans and Matt could do with some more Americans (Pershings!).

The last thing Matt needs is any more late late late war American tanks!

I was being ironic...but not about your need to get some 'not-shit' tanks.

WE SHOULD DO FLAMES OF WAR AGAIN.

In fact we should finish that campaign we started about two years ago...

Was that the period before the rest of us bought decent tanks? Smile

No it was in the "let's all do an early war force, Kieron is going to buy some Matildas" phase...

Oh yeah. But then I saw some dirt cheap Shermans...you know how it goes.

Anyway, that was all Matt's idea. He was going to get a train.

I'd still like to do that. Battlefront didn't help by discontinuing the model, although there is a less-nice Peter Pig one.

The polish one? They kept doing the german one before but that's no use.

Of course it could be like the monastery where it randomly disappears and reappears.

Oh yeah! Must be back, although just as individual cars rather than the whole train box for some reason. I'll add that to the "one day" list.

The 'One Day' list. Does that mean think about in once a year for twenty years until the idea dies?

No, it means the idea lasts for one day and then evaporates forever.
