Just discovered that the Dinky Daimler Armoured Car is 1/50 scale and roughly right for Bolt Action. There are several on eBay for peanuts.

Just thought it was worth mentioning.

The more I look, the more I find that it's possible to do a dirt cheap British army for the desert. Not so much for the Jerries. Even less so for the Italians.

No chance for the French.

Ha! I like it. We suggest something, you say no, talk to yourself on here for a week and then buy what we suggested!

Well it turns out that one of the Italian armoured cars was an exact replica of the Daimler Dingo. Dinky do one of them to and it's cheap as chips on eBay. You know what I'm like for cheapness...

After deciding against the desert plan, I've worked out what my next army will be. British commandos possibly in bren carriers supported by a Cromwell/churchill.

Also, the Daimler dingo is a 96 point lmg, so I'll pass on that for now!

Fortunately, the dingo was designed in 1938 and built in 1939, so it's currently destined to join my VBCW force.

In other news, I've been weighing up the early war german pioneers box. There's a whole heap of stuff in it that can make for a varied force.

No it doesn't. But if we're not doing the desert, I've no motivation to do Italians an match something to my Russians seems a better idea.

So you're doing early war Germans? What about the fallschirmjager?

I didn't say I'm doing early Germans, just that I was thinking about them. The box seems good value. For a few quid more than the basic box, the pioneers gives you and extra miniature, a flamethrower, an anti tank rifle, a Goliath demolition carrier and loads of additional pioneer bits. Certainly enough to make a fairly well rounded 500 points.

A support weapon heavy force would juxtapose my infantry heavy soviets well.
