Actually. When I work it out, when everything is painted I can do 1000 points.

Tempted by a half track though.

I'm going to be pretty close to 1000 by the time I've painted what I already have. I bought a pack of Artizan Russians command the other day because I needed to spend another 50p to use my card. It means I've got another Sniper, along with a few more infantry. At the moment my force is looking like:

I don't that's too much of a stretch to 1000 point depending on experience levels. What do you have?

Is 1003 points. Also have the panzershrek.

Oh and the panzer ii. Think as we start to go over 1000 that will be part of the second reinforced platoon.

I was initially annoyed that the pack had a sniper in until I saw that. Not sure I'll keep two in the long run, but it's another 50 points sorted and a good defence against your Flamethrower shenanigans.

Primed and stood next to the grit I used for the base (which I scraped off the road!)

Not too bad for a first go especially with my artistic skills, took several hours though, so I'm gonna have to get a bit of a production line going to finish the other 3.

Yeah I could have written a blog post, but whatever.

Did you get all the stuff from the Outpost last night? I assume whilst wearing a disguise and yelling "these are all for a young relative, I am way too cool for any of this" at the top of your lungs?

Uniform colours look right too, did you have a guide for those?

As Pete says, if you're coming round on Friday, bring him with you and we'll offer some pointers. Be good to see it in real life as well, rather than just a photo.

Went to wargames emporium, bought a Flames of War US paint pack which has a 'what colour goes where' guide on the box.

I'm not sure if I'll be there on Friday but will bring it with me if I am.

That's actually excellent for a first go.

And it's not geeky...it's 'historical' and therefore a branch of academic research.

My only suggestions would be a wash (GW Paints - Agorathrax Earthshade), especially on the face and hands, and a little bit of static grass on the base.

700 points is fine! In a bolt action mood at the moment. Especially after beating Matt last night...

Top tip! Don't drive up to the enemy in a transport unless you're going to get out before they can fire at it. Otherwise everyone inside gets loads of pins and can never disembark...

And the other move you made of driving your other transport in front of 2 squads of infantry and just parking up was excellent!

'Other' transport? One bus was borderline useless.

The fire engine with mmg wasn't much better...

Were you running the Panzer II or IV?

Bus load of infantry assaulting your sniper worked, just a shame about the flamethrower...

The flamethrower worked brilliantly! Accidentally ordered a Panzer III today...

It all sounds a bit bloody. Not at all like the surgical approach I intend to adopt with my communist horde.

Just gives me more variety. Can't use the panzer iv against Matt if I use the anti partizan list.

Plus, I don't have many tanks....
