Blood Bowl OFL

So, I met JP at lunchtime today, and he had been thinking.

Once I got over the shock of that, I found out that his idea is to have a blood bowl league of the people that used to play in the past and now don't see each other much. He wants to call it the Old Friends League, and has tricked me into running it with a mix of subtlety* and cunning**.

More details to follow as I work out what they are, but the rough idea is to have it be played from January 2014, with a finals day sometime in November/December. That should give plenty of time to play some games.

I'd like to allow people to have more than one team if they want, and not impose a limit on the total number of games.

So, who's interested?

Maybe, I'll see if I can get the time to paint up something else. But probably Skavem filth.

I've still got a dwarf and skaven team that need painting, but they're just the old metal boxes plus a star player each, so not particularly well rounded teams (no death roller or rat ogre!). Will probably start off with goblins and see what happens...

So it was your idea but you are being coy about playing?

I willl attempt to get some games in. I will use some figures of some description. Or maybe some different ones.

What rules set are we using?

Competition rules pack, if only so I don't have to hunt down and print off yet another copy of the blood bowl rules.

Yes, I think the actual rules are the same as the YBBL ones, unless anyone knows different.

Also, yes you can use the special play cards.

Not done any painting over Christmas, so Skaven it is. The Pitspike Stealers make their (hopefully) triumphant return.

I'd love to get together with you lot and play some BB. Spoken with JP and this sounds really good.

I got the Khemri going quite well as the year went on, but with Amazons and the old Cheeky Vimto about, who knows. I even have some Ogres and Snotlings that are really good fun to use.

Well if you can manage the games, I don't mind people having multiple teams, so long as you don't play against yourself. As results come in I'll create and maintain a league table - I'd like it to be pretty loose and free until we come to play finals, which I think we said you'd need to have played 8 games to qualify for.

I'll be starting off with the gobbos again I think - they might not win much, but they're so much fun to use...

If you're not going to skew things in your own favour, I really don't know why you would be league commissioner...

If I bring a board, it'll be like playing a home game!!!!!

On a similar note, I know I'm way down south to you lot, but you are all welcome to make the 20 minute drive to me at any time. Loads of space for BB and other games as well!
