Although we can clearly do enough cornfields for WW2 in the mid-west, I've been pondering about building some other terrain to negate Pete's MGs add some variation to the tabletop and I've come across this idea for cheap bocage.

Not sure is use wooden dowel rods, I'm sure I can find something cheaper, but it definitely looks doable and decent.

Any other ideas for some cheap terrain?

I found somewhere that made cheap hedges. Will put the link on when I'm on my laptop later.

I was just thinking this morning (after our entirely successful games last night - I think that table was about right for a normal game of Bolt Action, so we're just after variety now), that between the three of us we could probably now fill a table with buildings, or at least get close.

So, hedges are a good idea, as are fences - basically, I think we've got buildings in hand (Pete's getting that cafe from 4ground which is a decent sized piece as well), so some stuff to allow us to make farmland look better might be nice.

Not sure what else we need for non-desert WW2 though - any thoughts? I may well grab a bridge (a little one, not the Pegasus monstrosity) so maybe we could use rivers?

Trenches maybe? They'd be hard to do well, but might pay off.

Bunkers?

I've got all the materials for making a few water features like a marsh too.

More trees is the big one. Also I want to make some undergrowth bases for my woods as getting no cover from a patch of trees is one thing that bugs me about the game.

How are we set for hills (or folds in the landscape as they really are)? Do we still have just mine?

That's good value. I might try making some first, although it may have to wait. I tried painting today...it doesn't work so well when the world is spinning.

You know you need it. If only to render Matt's £85 hotel irrelevant.

At £25 I'd imagine the floors are empty of detail.

I've seen that a while ago - the new sarissa stuff in General is pretty nice. The other sarissa stuff I have has basically no detail - only the residential building even has interior walls. On price they're much better than 4ground though!

Did think about getting one to go with the hotel and make sort of a grand estate sort of thing. The radar station is cool as well.
