We've discussed something before, where we all do an army from an imaginary place.

Mike and I have decided to start something soon! It'll be in 6mm and ours will be based around Feists Riftwar world. Mine being a Samurai based force and Mikes being a sort of War of the Roses era force.

It'll be pre-black powder armies and we'll be using the KOW Historical lists.

Using this thread to keep ideas and for things like standardising base sizes.

Infantry

Individual character - 10mm x 10mm
Troop - 50mm x 20mm
Regiment - 50mm x 40mm
Horde - 100mm x 40mm
Legion - 100mm x 60mm

Cavalry

Mounted character - 15mm x 20mm
Troop - 70mm x 25mm
Regiment - 70mm x 50mm
Horde - 140mm x 50mm

War machine - 30mm x 30mm

We discussed this this morning, and although ideally it was intended as way to justify some new 6mm Historical projects, the fact that it uses the KoWH mechanics means that it's equally feasible to scale down a fantasy army if that's your preference. And as the setting is an imaginary world, there's no conflict in "Period" etc, as that's entirely irrelevant.

Could even see a Westerosi faction being a quite cool project...

How close are those base sizes to the Impetus ones?

Not something for me at the moment. Too many other projects in the go and I've no idea what Feist's Riftwar is. However, that's not a 'never'.

My answer is now exactly the same as Kieron's.

Pete! What had we decided for model count per base?

Think a troop was 20 but we'll have to see when the bases and models come. A troop will be 10 wide but depends if we can fit 2 ranks on. Should be able to.

Might be:
Troop 20
Regiment 40

You don't half make it sound like Pete has been moaning about ACW. Smile

Not moaning, just not interesting!

Easy though. Which seemed like a good idea when dipping our toes into a new scale.

And we can now do properly big battles.

It's not even Pete moaning, it's me tbh. The main point is that there's only two forces, so it's a little exclusive to the fifth wheel, and its not really history.
Playing in a completely open world, and using such an accessible system as KoW for its fantasy and historical crossover, is just much more appealing.
