So I've just been having a browse about for news on this and some bits and bobs stuck out.
First, while they will use similar mechanics (and very similar to KoW) the large vs small system looks quite pronounced. In Firefight "every model counts". While both are essentially Mantic trying out not-40k, Firefight is a smaller skirmish version where squads move quite fluidly. Struggling to see the point when they've just released Dead zone 2.0 though.
Warpath is actually more like KoW as far as I can see, so I think squads will have a set "footprint" to adhere to. Not sure how I feel about that. A lot of folk are either grumbling about or celebrating the prospect of multi-basing and I kind of agree with both camps. Units look awesome when based as squads, but it's going to be really awkward balancing things on buildings (unless you only have intact buildings, which would mean just a counter to show occupancy?).
How do you guys feel?
