There was no "American Civil War". What are you talking about?

I'll admit it.

We're rubbish at it.

We're rubbish at seething over a single comment during a demo game so much that we'd spend several months bitterly painting up models so that we could have our 'glorious revenge' against a much smaller enemy force (and still almost lose that) and crowing about it perpetually to discourage further games and maintain our undefeated run of one horribly imbalanced game.

Yes.

We're rubbish at that.

Cool

It's called finishing a project!

Anyway, it'd be nice to play some of the actual battles that went on. Will see if it's available at triples

According to this thread - http://www.lead-adventure.de/index.php?topic=87903.0 - the word is that it won't be released until Salute. But warlord will be at triples so they might have a preview copy.

I'm waiting for two years before actually trying...you know...keeping it historical.

They've both done Eastern Confederates, so it's best if you're Sherman and have pissed off to Atlanta, and I'm Grant. It'll be a few years before I'm transferred West and I can excuse any number of bloody losses as part of a campaign of attrition and all part of my strategy.

I've skimmed it last night, it turned up just before we set off on holiday so brought it with me. Haven't drawn any conclusions yet though. What did you think?

We need to paint lots more for even the smallest scenario. Although it'd be cool to have some big armies but I can't see some people painting that much

Had a look at the first couple of scenarios, I think we do at least own that many models between us, they just need painting. I'm sure that within five or six decades we can have that done.

Makes a good point to aim for though. In the meantime we get better defined rules for what the forces should be like. We could do some more games off our own bat with what we already have. You could even, dare I say it, not use all the models you have painted....

No, but I thought the point of doing 6mm was that we could do big armies, that would be quick to paint and get on the table but look good in a large force!

I'm going to buy and paint more.

It is. We'll get there, keep your hair on. We do already own enough for the scenarios I've looked at though.

Have bought it now. Might prompt me to paint something...although I warn you, I'm likely to be very picky about my battles. I'm not being forced into building a 1st Bull Run or Fredricksburg army when the Union were shit.

I very much doubt we'll look at it in enough detail that a bull run force isn't pretty much the same as Gettysburg or anywhere else, at least for the foreseeable future. Numbers of regiments will be the thing I think.
