The risk being that you wait, but then they fail their orders roll and don't come on.

Would no doubt be nice for my cavalry too!

Matt, in the spirit of pestering you...what about simply doing a Partisans force? They'd work against both Soviets and Germans, and you can use more of your current figures.

The list is in the French book.

We all know he's going to do Americans. Its only a matter of time. If you think about it he could include them as part of his 1:1 policy...

Errrrrrr.....

Wouldn't a partisan force be a bit boring? Suppose I'd have to see what they can have.

So it's hard to find info online, but someone's blog suggests that you can field captured vehicles with partisans. That's interesting. Might flick through the French book if I see one on Sunday.

The Polish partisans in the Warsaw Uprising were organised like a regular army, with Mortars and HMGs and captured a range of German vehicles like armoured cars, Hetzers and even a couple of Panthers. What's more, in the latter stages of the uprising, they were joined by Polish Soviet troops so you could even use a squad or two of those Russians.

Convince Pete to give you some of his spare German heads and weapons to convert some models.

Here's someone's Polish AK force... http://ittybittysoldiers.blogspot.co.uk/2013/09/bolt-action-partisan-update.html?m=1

They also used PIATs and some air-dropped British equipment.

Here's a review of the army in play: http://lrdg.com.au/partisans-post-game-thoughts/

No, but I've now made up the additional three I needed, added pouches and stuff and put sand on their bases. Need some spray paint now...hint hint.

Is 'Russian uniform' the right colour to use? Sure when I researched painting mine I used 'khaki'.

The plastics do but not the metal figures.
I have been using 2p pieces for the bases. Usually cheaper then buying them Exclamation

Khakhi is the colour for uniforms. With sundry other shades of brown of grey for the pouches and straps.

Just painting the Heavy Mortar I bought in Derby.
It looks to me that the rulebook Soviet list allows them to take a medium and a heavy mortar. Does anyone know if this is right?

If you've got two reinforced platoons, yes. It's 0-1 mortar team per platoon. Having said that, technically the Force Selection rules are just guidelines so you can actually take what you want as long as you're not at a tournament.

Some of the lists in the back of the armies books allow for multiples. Germans are allowed 2 mmg in some

When I have them finished I will put the pics in Flickr.
I painted the star on the turret of my tank. It is not hard. Numbers and Cyrillic script. Now they are not easy!

Just delighted to find that the figures, including the tank Exclamation will fit in the same sort of drawers I use for the 15mm FoW figures.
I will get the pics done in daylight.
