But 'best' is an entirely subjective concept. I'm sure it is good in that format, I've not said it's not, but I enjoyed it in the format I saw it in, and I don't think 3D would have been as good for me for a variety of reasons.
What is clear though, is that this was a successful 3D film as it really enhanced the experience for you guys, but the 3D stuff doesn't undermine the conventional version. When I saw the Hobbit, it was clear that all the silly falling and swinging walkways in the tunnels was obviously included just for 'oooh 3D' impact and actually detracted from the overall film (that bit in 2D is drawn out and stupid). I saw that film in both formats at the cinema, god knows why, and the difference was quite stark.
Star Wars doesn't have that. At no point did I feel that I was missing out on the full enjoyment for not seeing it in 3D - which implies that it's a very well made film.
