Seems affordable as a set of rules and I'm pretty certain that it wouldn't require any other purchases to play as even if you haven't got WFB armies knocking about, bits boxes would certainly facilitate playing very cheaply.

I'm definitely up for some, its a fantasy skirmish game that actually uses magic. What's not to love!

I'll be honest though, personally I'll be buying new models for it, even if they aren't Frostgrave "legit". Its an excuse to pick up some really nice stuff that I never needed before so...

Cool. The 'it won't cost anything' shtick is for Matt's benefit. Smile

Have you seen Otherworld Miniatures? They're absolutely gorgeous miniatures. If I wasn't trying to reduce my lead pile at the moment I'd be all over them. The even do a Zagor from the Warlick of Firetop Mountain Fighting Fantasy books.

Hurray!

I'm in the process of selling all my unpainted Bretonnians, but I still have a few bits and pieces if any of you want them for henchmen. I'm pretty sure my Grail Pilgrims (they're unsurprisingly not the official models) will cover my needs.

Rule book will have to wait until next mont for me.

Good review of this in the new WSS. Looks like all we need is the rulebook and some d20's! Have an excuse to usey dwarves again!

No idea! Can't be many. The size of your band is 10 I think

Wes! In the absence of any previous Fantasy style models (I beleive?) would this be of use to you when i inevitably bully everyone into playing?

It's not bullying Mike, it's peer pressure.

There's also a link to the Osprey downloads page on North Star's twitter feed that has the spells for each Wizard school on it. The game does look like it will be pretty fast flowing, and magic looks really easy to resolve from looking at them. Also 8 spells each at the start of your Warband?! Crazy!

Get a brown paper bag and breathe into it! Deep soothing breath! You're in a meadow etc etc

Are you talking about the rulebook? Or the model above that post?

It's £10.50 at the mome, Frostgrave Rule Book

Wes! In the absence of any previous Fantasy style models (I beleive?) would this be of use to you when i inevitably bully everyone into playing?

Yeah that looks cool! If this is something we're likely to play then I may purchase a pack of a Wizard and Apprentice anyway, they're only six squid.

You can just have it if you want, its the pre-Hobbit Radagast the Brown, but it'd make a good Witch (which loom pretty cool, you can summon a fricking BEAR into your warband!)

And yes, Pete and myself have the rulebook on order so we're definitely playing it. I need to buy some dead stuff...

Cheers Mike. Preordered the rule book today, thought it was reasonable for a tenner.

I know it's not the wargamers way but we're on one new wargame a month here, calm it down, I can't keep up!

I like the fact that each type of soldier is armed differently. It makes things much clearer on the tabletop.

And you only need ten guys plus whatever summoning fodder you need.

A single D20 and a scatter dice is all to mplay as well

How are we for terrain on this? I have a couple of small ruins and a crypt, along with generic hills and trees. Might be lacking some scatter terrain though.
