I want to spend some money...

So...

I've come into a small sum of birthday money and I'm stuck on what to spend it in (as I've also got a bunch of Batman models too).

Ideas include:

More Batman stuff?
Smaller purchases from a range of manufacturers for my Marvel project?
More 7TV rule books?
A board game? Don't know what though.
X-Wing stuff?
Zombie stuff?
A new game?
Other ideas I haven't thought of.

Any suggestions? Help me spend some money...

Have you given up on the War of 1812 thing?

I think so. I've had it for years and not done anything. It might feature as a monthly project later nights year.

I suspect the answer is going to be whatever you feel like doing most. Roll some dice to pick one from your list. If you're no happy with that result, you obviously wanted to do something else...

I'm just fishing for ideas. Nothing above really grabs me and I hate saving money. I was just hoping somebody could enlighten me on something I didn't know that I wanted.

Some sort of massive terrain thing?

Possibly. I've also got two more Sarrissa buildings (the industrial ones), so I've got some fairly large terrain to do. Terrain is a good idea though. I could possibly get some interior stuff for my buildings though...hmmm...

There's lots of small things I'd 'like', but nothing I specifically 'want', and I don't want to fritter the money away. I'm also wary of building up a massive lead pile...

That's a good point, although it is with opponent's permission, and I know what you lot are like. However, I could scale up to a second platoon.

I'm leaning towards getting a range of smaller things rather than one big purchase. I think I'm conscious that had Wes not bought Imperial Assault, that's what I'd be buying - but it wouldn't get used now.

Currently on the possible list are:

KM Billboards
BA SU-whatever number it is
The BA Eastern Front book
Vlad's Army rulebook for 7TV (it's on offer)
Two Face Gang (as I already have two henchmen)
The Mars Attacks Terrain pack (I don't think the game will get played, although most of the miniatures would be useful)

However, I've also been eyeing a smattering of miniatures from Reaper, Hasslefree and Crooked Dice for zombies and supers...just not sure.

Thoughts?

I doubt you need much in the way of zombies, unless you're after more survivors.

Hasslefree do some nice models though, so yes, get some of those!

Game of Thrones board game?

I'm wary of buying too many board games as I don't really get to use them, and each additional one decreases the likelihood of using the others. However, I may get an expansion for one I already have.

I'm slowly getting there:

SU-76 for Bolt Action - I can use it for free, in addition to or or as an alternative to the bog standard T-34. It's gun is HE which makes it something different from what everybody else has. Plus, it's a tank, and they're fun.
Ostfront Campaign Book - It will add options and enjoyment to my Soviets, and I don't have to paint it.
City Billboards for Batman - I like painting the KM terrain, and these will add more colour to my terrain.
Joker Gas Canister Objectives - small and cheap and finish off my Joker crew with something no other crew has.

Just over halfway there...

Those are the things I'm definitely getting. Just trying to source them as cheaply as possible now.

The English Civil War debacle several years ago gave me an aversion to large scale impulse buys - I now witter about purchases for a bit to sort out what a really want. I e talked myself into and out of loads of things this week.

Thanks, but I'll wait until I definitely have won an army. I'm bidding on Scourge plus rulebook (currently at £20 plus p&p), but if o miss out there's a chance of getting a UCM set for £20. I'm being led by price rather than choice.

No. That was you lot buying the starter sets. It's how I ended up with Siviets though.

Well I think from Kieron's point of view the "want" is "an army for DZC", rather than a specific one...

Absolutely. I've made the decision to play the game and there's bits I like and dislike about all of the armies:

I like the military feel of UMC, but I'm not keen on the transports.
I like the tentacled things in the Scourge, but I'm less of a fan of the tanks.
I generally like the PHR, but it's a bit samey.

If there was one I specifically wanted, I'd go for it, but as I'm a bit ambivalent about which one, I'll let fate decide. one f the reasons I've not leapt at DZC is that none of the armies really grab me.

I was the same about Bolt Action. There's no real difference between how the main armies play or look, so fundamentally it comes down to value for money. I have limited resources so I've learnt to take enjoyment from maximising them.
