So, some things I learned Pete...

1) you were right about rolling on the destroyed ground transport for when the Bears blew up with the Condor

2) apparently, my Hovercraft can enter the board at full speed, but needs to have moved 6" to gain the benefits against shooting, just like a normal skimmer

The more I think about it, the more I enjoyed DZC - probably the best new game I've played in a long time.

1. Saw you'd put the in the fb group. Nice to know the rules are that easy to interpret!

2. Read that yesterday looking at the resistance list!

Love the game. And having read more of the background from the reconquest book, I think it's really well thought out and fun to read. Which is why I liked evil empire stuff, pre mental episode.

Oh and my big infantry battlegroup in the second game wasn't legal. It had too many squads for on battlegroup because the normal infantry count as three choices rather than one. Additionally, I can't include Freeriders in a skirmish list unless I get a HQ unit, which means my next purchase has to be an Alexander and a Lifthawk.

The Alexander should at least give me some degree of anti-tank capability that I'm currently missing. Although as a single dice roll on its main gun, I suspect that it might turn out to be a bit like the T-34.

There are command cards that allow you a reroll. I had one the other day but never needed it!

Not in my deck there aren't. My cards are more about repair, survival and booby traps. However, it does have four different guns. The chain guns are only E7 but they should keep light vehicles heads down. The big gun can increase its range by dropping its E value.

Oh, and you can include your big infantry. You'd have 1 squad of 4 stands in 2 jacksons, then a separate squad of 2 in a single jackson, then both squads can share a single lifthawk

That's interesting. I'd be very unlikely to send the squads out in three twos anyway. Cool. Looks like I'll be begging the Marines off you again when we play next. Smile

So, 1000 point game against Kieron, turns out when you play at a proper sized game, Kieron REALLY sucks at dropzone!

It was a bit embarssing how well it went, and it turns out blowing up buildings full of infantry is lots of fun!

Blah blah blah!

I'm not actually that bothered about this as it's still a good game when you lose. There was still a chance for my battered force to win until you destroyed that building. My inability to win initiative, find objectives, or hit anything got in the way of that slim hope though.

I'm amused by how much I like this game.

Mortar team on its way. Only £10 and is another troop choice that can go in the spare Bear I have. Plus, I know how much you love the template weapons...

Eventually I'll learn to not cluster. Reading the unit cohesion rules as I type.

Have found a work around for the lack of Alexanders in Outpost.

Nope. Salakhan, Tyrant of Atlantia. A special character who drives an Alexander. The model is fundamentally the same and for 80p extra I've got his command cards should I ever want to use the character.

My ferrum drone base arrived today. I'm going to remember to stick these little tab things in the bottom of the drones so they fit on the flying bases.

Bought some stuff!

Gharial command tank (the model turns out to be twice the size I was expecting, it's a hefty beast)
Yari scout tanks (someone on a blog said they were good, and they can have AA guns which I think I need more of)
Spirit light gates (these are the flying gates that can drop off infantry. I think they will be a big help).

Painting has gone a bit crazy, I've started the big fliers now so I have lots of half-painted stuff. hopefully more things will be painted by Sunday anyway.
