And shaped charges suffer an extra -1 on all rolls to hit. So should still suffer a long range -1 as well.

And you can't shoot through friendly units, or within an inch of them, unless you can't possibly damage them

So with that shaped charge thing, are you saying that when they actually managed to destroy one of out tanks, Matt was actually cheating?

Happy to do this again.

For the experience thing, what are the force composition rules?

Yes, he cheated. He does this a lot.

And its a normal tank platoon but you can only buy inexperienced tanks. Unless there's no option for inexperienced ones. I which case they start at regulars with 2 skills

That is not what I read. Admittedly I was reading from the rules summary Easy Army gives you.

I was only firing over them, not through. We could argue about the 1" thing I suppose, but I don't think that would have stopped any shots I made.

They don't suffer the -1 penetration at long range. Your cheating mind read this and changed the rule to your benefit...

We've been using friendly units as soft cover for some reason

Pffft. At least it was innocent. And I'd have reminded you you had machine guns.

And another thing!

There actually isn't another thing.

Because that's the rule in 40k, probably.

Ha, we don't know any rules!

If a pinned vehicle fails an orders test it must make a reverse move

That's new. That M10 would have been gone by turn three!

Mind you. The Tiger would have followed on turn four...

We even used that rule in our last game and forgot it again!

Wes appears to be going to watch hockey on Sunday now so looks like just three of us, I guess if we're quick we should all get a game.

Presumably infantry and stuff doesn't have to be inexperienced?

Actually are we better off if one person uses two platoons so it's just one game?

View user profile http://paintbrushandsuperglue.blogspot.co.uk/

43 Re: The weekend! on Wed Nov 19, 2014 10:41 am

Its just tanks that are inexperienced.

Shall I pick 2000 points of Soviets and you 2 pick 1000 each of Germans?

Actually reversing would've been handy 'cause presumably Kieron's mortar would've been back to rolling a six which would have given me time to clear the pins.

Okay.

It might be remarkably similar to last weekend though...

Is Easy Army right that you're limited to only five tanks in your force?

Yes, although you can have multiple platoons

Rolls of a 1 for penetration against vehicles are always a failure!

Found that on the bolt action forum. Page 37 of the rulebook, last sentence, apparently.

I thought that was the case. 1 is always a failure.

Is that an posh admission? "One is always a failure old boy!"
