We played Saga earlier this year! We were all so happy.

Why don't you want us to be happy?

I'd like to give this Munchkin board game a go, the playtime is suggested at 1hr, so should only take us about 3...

I think it's more of a card game.

But yeah, bring that, we should be able to fit that in.

Yeah it is, but the deluxe version comes with a board.

Does the board have a yellow brick road on it?

On the subject of board games, I've got the old Heroquest hame from MB. You're probably all too young to remember it. It's old fashioned fun. Just a suggestion.

There's also whatever games we've managed to convince our poor saps of families to buy us.

I had that! Used to play it with my brother and parents. We took it in turns to run the game, when I was a player I was the wizard. I got all the add ons, including the dungeon designer thing with the stickers, and got my first citadel colour paint set for the models. It's directly responsible for getting me into Battle Masters, then 40k, then everything else.

Too young to remember it indeed. Pah!

So, because Pete hates fun, we agreed last night to do 800 points each of 28mm BA, and we'll determine sides on the day so no one can tailor their list against a specific opponent.

Do we want to try to fit in anything else miniatures-based? Star Trek or X-wing maybe? Or do we just want board games?

If that means there's a chance of me not losing half of my force to Matt's cheaty-no-skill bombs because he's on my side, then I'm in!

Board games is good.

You could always not march half your force directly towards the cheaty-no-skill bombs. Just sayin'.

I'm being thematic and historical. You're just exploiting that fact to feed your own diminished ego.

Anyway, odds are they won't go off.

That's right! The fact that they've gone off in almost every game, normally twice, is just a weird statistical fluke.

So, just checking...

800 points of Bolt Action in the morning.
Fry up
Munchkin Game

Anything else? We might have time, so do we want to plan anything or wait to see what geekiness we get for Crimbo?

If Wes brings a selection box of board games we should be ok!

44 Re: Christmas gaming day! on Tue Dec 23, 2014 10:38 pm

Yeah I can bring a variety of games.

45 Re: Christmas gaming day! on Tue Dec 23, 2014 10:50 pm

Could maybe do some X-wing if we have time? I think Pete has enough of that for us not to need to bring any more for a small game.
