Still wondering what to do with my GW stuff. Thinking of finally biting the bullet and selling it all but my dwarfs.

Is there a Sci fi skirmish game, in a 40k like world that worth looking at anyone know?

Warpath. It's actually a pretty good game, with an activation mechanic that's sort of similar to bolt action.

That's big battles like 40k though. No ones going to paint a big army like that. I mean a bit between a necromunda size and 40k size

What GW stuff do you have for sci-fi?

I'll second Warpath though. It's pretty decent...and free!

Quite a large Space marine force, all painted, and I'd started an Eldar army...

I've used my space marines in Warpath as both Forge Fathers and Enforcers. It works so well that it's almost as if Mantic were trying to steal GW customers...

On the subject of Mantic, their Deadzone game seems popular, that's more skirmish based. Other than that, I'm a bit stumped for sci-fi games that aren't card driven single model stuff.

Yeah, played warpath, seemed ok. Might have a look at deadzone. More likely to get us all playing if its a smaller game!

Ah, that's true, deadzone might be worth a look. We did also talk about doing necro again, and there are rules for space marines in the outlanders supplement (not as a gang though, just as miscellaneous people that can show up).

Saying that I've still got two 40k armies, so I doubt we'd struggle to do warpath if we wanted.

I don't have a problem with warpath, played it, liked it. I just don't think its likely we'd ever play it. I don't have any scenery for it for a start, and i doubt you'd want to lug all yours over for a game.

I was trying to think of something smaller. Deadzone seems a bit odd. I'd have to play it. Its all done in squares. Seems a lot like the xcom console game the way it works. Maybe Necromunda is the answer!

Using Necromunda for kill team scenarios could be good. There's stats for Eldar, Orks, Guardsmen and Genestealers too!

I have Marines. Red ones.

Your Yanks will work fine as Imperial Guard. Problem solved...when you've painted them!

For that matter, so will my Soviets. Yay! I have a new army for a game I don't play...

That's good. I only have about 8000 points of 40k Imperial Guard, so we'll need some more...

Actually, that's 8000 points the last time I played. Probably about 150 points by now.

You probably don't have enough large lumps of plastic to make it av legal army now. Plus, I don't think they're called imperial guard anymore...

Oh that's right, they changed them to whatever the gothic name was supposed to be, didn't they?

I don't have any super heavy tanks or titans, so I certainly don't think I could win a game.
